Another fishing boat with Vietnamese crew capsizes in Korea

Ho Chi Minh City [Vietnam], February 13: A fishing boat carrying 10 people capsized off Jeju Island in South Korea, with the Korean captain, three Vietnamese crew members and one Indonesian crew member being rescued.
Yonhap news agency reported on February 13 that five people were missing after a fishing boat carrying 10 people capsized off the southern Korean island of Jeju , including six Koreans, three Vietnamese and one Indonesian.
The Korean Coast Guard received a distress signal at 7:56 p.m. on February 12 (local time) from a 32-ton fishing vessel.
A 500-ton coast guard ship was dispatched to the scene and discovered the capsized fishing boat. Among the victims, the Korean captain and four foreign crew members were rescued, while the remaining five Korean crew members have yet to be found.
The coast guard has deployed 12 patrol boats and two rescue ships to join the search operation, along with four fishing boats, an aircraft, and three navy and local government ships.
Earlier on February 9, a fishing boat carrying 14 crew members sank off the southern coast of South Korea, leaving at least four people dead and six missing.
Among the victims, there were 3 Vietnamese, including 2 who were rescued and treated at the hospital and 1 who is missing. The boat capsized in the sea area 20 nautical miles east of Goemun, Yeosu city, Jeollanam province.
The 139-ton ship was carrying eight South Koreans, three Vietnamese and three Indonesians. The South Korean coast guard said that, according to crew members, the ship appeared to have capsized after listing sharply to the left.
South Korea has dispatched 24 patrol boats, four naval vessels, 13 aircraft and civilian vessels to search for the missing crew members. A coast guard speedboat capsized due to high waves, and six crew members were rescued.
