Drone explodes over eastern Ukraine's Zaporizhzhya nuclear plant

Kyiv [Ukraine], April 8: Russian authorities on Sunday blamed Ukrainian forces for a drone attack that threatened the Zaporizhzhya nuclear plant.
The were no injuries or damage from the drone that detonated over the facility's sixth reactor, wrote the Russian management of the occupied plant in eastern Ukraine on Telegram.
Radiation levels in and around the plant were in line with norms, it continued. The International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN's nuclear watchdog, said an explosion had been observed over the plant, where it has representatives stationed, but did not say who was responsible. Director General Rafael Grossi urged the warring sides to refrain from actions that could "jeopardize nuclear safety," he wrote on X. (DPA)
