Feb 12, 2023

Paris [France], February 12: The French scientist FaribaAdelkhah was released from an Iranian prison on Friday evening, according to the French Foreign Ministry. The researcher was able to leave the notorious Evin Prison near Tehran after having been held there for almost four years.
Adelkhah was given back all her freedoms, meaning she is able to return to her home country, France.
The French ministry also demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all other citizens held in Iran.
Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna recently said that Iran was holding seven French citizens "arbitrarily." Anthropologist Adelkhah, who also holds Iranian nationality, was arrested at Tehran airport with her colleague and partner Roland Marchal in June 2019. Both were sentenced to five years in prison for endangering national security and spreading anti-government propaganda.(dpa)
