Greece, Spain reach final of FINA women's junior water polo world championships

Jerusalem (Israel) Oct 16: Greece and Spain on Friday secured their spots in the gold-medal match of the FINA Women's Junior Water Polo World Championships to be held on Saturday.
The championship is held at Israel's Wingate Institute Olympic swimming pool in the coastal city of Netanya.
In the first semifinal, Greece beat Hungary 13-8, after dominating most minutes of the game, leading 4-2 at the end of the first quarter, 7-3 at halftime and 11-7 after the third quarter.
Eleni Kanetidou scored a team-high 3 goals for the winners, while Kinga Peresztegi-Nagy led the Hungarians with 3 goals as well.
In the second semifinal, Spain beat Italy 14-12 after a close match, in which the Italians led by one goal at the end of each of the three first quarters, 5-4, 8-7 and 10-9.
However, Adriadna Ruiz Barril gave Spain their first lead of the game, 11-10, with 3:58 minutes to go.
With 1:38 minutes before the final buzzer, Maria Palacio Linde made it 14-12, securing the Spanish victory.
Palacio Linde scored a game-high 4 goals for Spain, with Ruiz Barril and Elena Camarena Heredia adding 3 each.
Sofia Giustini and Dafne Bettini score 3 goals each for Italy.
