Snowfall in southern Germany , especially the Bavarian capital of Munich, affected hundreds of flights over the weekend, according to AFP. The weather forecast agency said snow fell from the night of December 1 to the morning of December 2, with a thickness of more than 40 cm. Authorities have urged residents to stay off the streets to ensure safety.
Bavarian broadcaster BayerischerRundfunk reported that the amount of snowfall in Munich from December 1 to December 2 was the heaviest recorded since data were compiled in 1933.
