Iran attack destroys many Israeli F-35s?

Oct 10, 2024

Tel Aviv [Israel], October 10: Iranian Brigadier General Ebrahim Jabbari claimed that Iran's recent missile attack destroyed a large number of Israeli F-35 fighter jets.
Speaking at a conference in the Iranian capital Tehran on October 9, Mr. Jabbari, an adviser to the commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), announced that 90% of the missiles launched in Iran's Operation Promise 2 on October 1 at Israeli targets successfully hit the designated targets, according to Al Mayadeen TV channel (Lebanon).
Mr. Jabbari also said that in addition to the missile attack , the IRGC also conducted simultaneous cyber and electronic warfare operations targeting Israel's air defense systems, allowing missiles to directly strike important targets.
According to Mr. Jabbari, Iranian ballistic missiles targeted important Israeli military bases and F-35 hangars, resulting in the destruction of many of these fighter jets.
Mr. Jabbari also said that Israel and the US were caught by surprise despite deploying advanced defense measures to prevent Iran's attack.
In the operation dubbed True Promise 2, Iran launched at least 200 ballistic missiles targeting strategic Israeli military sites, including three air bases in Tel Nof, Nevatim and Hatzerim, according to Al Mayadeen.
The IRGC claimed the missile strikes targeted "three military bases" around Tel Aviv, as well as air bases and radars, adding that "90 percent" of the missiles "hit their targets".
According to the IRGC, the Nevatim base houses F-35 fighter jets, while the Hatzerim base houses the F-15 fighter jets used to assassinate Mr. Nasrallah.
There is currently no information about the reaction of Israel or the US to Mr. Jabbari's statement.
Earlier, The Times of Israel on the afternoon of October 2 quoted an announcement from the Israeli military saying that the impact of missiles launched by Iran on October 1 caused damage to office buildings and other maintenance areas in the air bases hit by the missiles.
However, the Israeli military asserted that all the impacts of the missiles launched by Iran on the air bases were considered "ineffective", meaning that they did not cause any harm to the continued operations of the Israeli Air Force.
