Judith Tuluka Suminwa named new PM of DRC

Kinshasa [Congo], April 2: Judith Tuluka Suminwa has been appointed as the new prime minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the country's presidential office said late Monday.
Judith Tuluka Suminwa, formerly the minister of planning, has made history as the first woman to serve as prime minister in the country.
She is a member of the ruling Union for Democracy and Social Progress party, which won 69 seats in the 500-member National Assembly, securing its position as the leading party among 44 others in the general elections held in December 2023.
