Washington [US], March 30: US President Joe Biden has just started a television advertising program targeting voters who support Nikki Haley, once an opponent of former President Donald Trump in the Republican party.
The ad above shows Mr. Trump repeatedly mocking Ms. Haley and telling a reporter that he could win without hunting Ms. Haley's supporters, according to AFP today, March 30.
"She's crazy. She's a very angry person," Mr. Trump is heard saying in the 30-second promotional video. This ad is interspersed with social media posts in which Mr. Trump declares he "will not accept" Ms. Haley's supporters.
Mr. Biden posted the above video on social networks with the caption: "Voters who support Nikki Haley, Donald Trump does not want your vote. I want to make it clear: There is a place for you in my election campaign".
Mr. Biden and Trump will almost certainly fight again in the US presidential election in November, after they almost won all the votes in 15 states on Super Tuesday (March 5) and their opponents. Mr. Trump's only member in the Republican Party is Ms. Haley's withdrawal.
Ms. Haley announced on March 6 that it was time to stop the race for the Republican presidential nomination and she had no regrets, according to Reuters. Ms. Haley said it was possible that Mr. Trump would be the Republican presidential candidate, but she did not support the former president.
Additionally, a large number of Republican primary voters, up to 40% in some states, did not support Trump, raising concerns that he will not be able to win over the moderates he will need to return to own the White House, according to AFP.
The above television advertising program, launched by Mr. Biden's election campaign on March 29, will air for three weeks in eight important battleground states, targeting voters who support Mrs. Haley in the suburbs, where she performed best against Mr. Trump.
The ad will also appear on multiple digital platforms, including those owned by Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, and YouTube.
"As Mr. Trump receives less support, mocks women and threatens to ban abortion nationwide, Mr. Joe Biden is reaching out to Haley's voters, inviting them to join the growing coalition and His victory over the voters will decide this election," Mr. Biden's campaign emphasized, according to AFP.
