NASA's efforts to study UFOs

New York [US], September 16: Yesterday, the US Aerospace Agency (NASA) announced the appointment of personnel for the newly created position of director of research for unidentified unusual phenomena (UAP).
The new position was established based on a report by a team of experts and independent scientists, which said that NASA

The NASA director said the report on UAP marked the first time the US agency made a specific move to seriously look at the UAP topic, according to The New York Times. The report is not intended to provide an official answer as to whether extraterrestrial intelligence has been found. However, through the research process, the investigation board made recommendations that they believe NASA needs to promote to make progress on UAP research in the near future.
Based on the recommendations of the investigation board, NASA decided to create the position of "UAP Research Director" and has completed the appointment of personnel. However, Mr. Nelson did not mention the identity of the new director at the press conference. After the press conference ended about 7 hours, this person's name was announced. That is Mr. McInerney, who once headed the collaborative effort between NASA and the US Department of Defense on the UAP issue.
NASA explained that the initial reason for having to hide Mr. McInerney's identity was because some members of the investigation board were threatened during the survey and research on this topic. However, the US agency later changed its mind and decided to publicly reveal the person responsible for the UAP research effort in the near future.
New approach
In June 2022, NASA announced its decision to launch an independent investigation effort into UAP, and in October of the same year selected 16 members, including university professors, space industry officials and the press. According to the investigation board's recommendation, NASA should use Earth observation devices to collect data to assess environmental conditions at the time the UAP report was recorded.
At the same time, to solve the lack of data needed for analysis, the US agency mentioned the possibility of opening an online information reception portal, such as a mobile phone application. Citizens are encouraged to send messages or even pictures of cases they suspect are UAP. Astrophysicist David Spergel, head of the investigation, said people should be encouraged "if you see something unusual, report it."
The investigation panel also recommended deploying complex computer algorithms
