Feb 26, 2024

Sydney [Australia], February 26: Australian Federal Police (AFP) reported on Monday that about 300 kg of MDMA and 70 kg of ketamine were recently identified in a consignment of metal fiber at a storage facility in Sydney.
According to the policing authority, the illicit drugs were seized on Friday when a search warrant was executed at the facility in the Sydney suburb of Box Hill.
Officers located 20 pallets of boxes in a storage room, which were labeled as metal fiber and had been transported via a shipping container to the storage facility.
Testing of the substances inside some of the boxes returned positive results for both MDMA and ketamine.
AFP Detective Superintendent Kristie Cressy said that the 300 kg of MDMA had a potential estimated street value of more than 12 million Australian dollars (about 7.9 million U.S. dollars).
"We will be relentless in pursuing the syndicate responsible for this importation," Cressy noted.
