Over 350,000 Russian soldiers killed or injured in Ukraine: NATO

Mar 15, 2024

Brussels [Belgium], March 15: Western intelligence services estimate that the number of Russian soldiers killed or wounded in Ukraine has now exceeded 350,000, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Thursday.
"Russia is paying a very high price for marginal gains," Stoltenberg asserted in
Brussels.
Ukrainian attacks also sank or disabled a significant part of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Stoltenberg added. In the air war, he said, Ukraine has been shooting down high-quality surveillance aircraft belonging to Russia.
Stoltenberg did not say
how many of the estimated 350,000 Russian casualties are fatalities.
These numbers cannot be independently verified. The Russian side does not provide any precise information about the losses in its own ranks.
At the same time, Stoltenberg appealed to the 32 NATO member states to provide more military support for Ukraine.
The NATO secretary general specifically addressed the Republicans of US presidential candidate Donald Trump, who are currently blocking planned aid from President Joe Biden's administration.
Every day of delay affects the situation on the battlefield, Stoltenberg said on the sidelines of a meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda at NATO headquarters.
