Russian forces shoot down 7 Ukrainian rockets, 28 drones in a day: Ministry

Moscow [Russia], Januaru 29: Russian air defences have shot down seven missiles fired from HIMARS and Vampire systems, as well as 28 drones of the Ukrainian military in the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Saturday.
"Air defence systems shot down seven rockets of the HIMARS and Vampire multiple launch rocket systems. In addition, 28 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed," the ministry said in a statement.
The drones were neutralized over the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republic, as well the Kherson Region, according to the statement.
In total, since the beginning of Russia's special operation, 568 Ukrainian aircraft, 265 helicopters, 11,283 drones, 456 air defence systems, 14,805 tanks and other armoured vehicles, 1,210 multiple launch rocket systems, 7,881 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 17,940 special military vehicles have been destroyed, the statement read. Western countries have been providing Ukraine with military aid since the start of Russia's special military operation in February 2022. (Sputnik)
