Taliban execute murderer in second public execution since retaking power

Islamabad [Pakistan], June 21: For the second time since retaking power, the Taliban held a public execution, this time for an Afghan man who killed five people, the Supreme Court announced in a statement.
The execution took place on Tuesday in eastern Afghanistan, as numerous Taliban officials and residents watched.
The man first killed three men and a woman after entering a house in the Qarghayi district of Laghman province at midnight. Later, he shot dead another man from the same family, the statement said. The motive and the exact date of the crime were not specified in the court's statement.
