UN expresses concern over increasing tensions, armed mobilisation in Tripoli

Tripoli [Libya], August 24: The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) expressed grave concerns about reports of mobilisation of forces in Tripoli, including the threats to use force to resolve the crisis surrounding the Central Bank of Libya.
In a statement, the UNSMIL urgently called for immediate de-escalation, restraint, and emphasised that dialogue is the only solution to all issues.
UNSMIL is actively engaging relevant stakeholders to reach peaceful agreement to resolve the crisis over the Libyan Central Bank.
