UN Security Council members condemn systematic discrimination against women, girls in Afghanistan

New York [US], September 7: Twelve members of the UN Security Council strongly condemned the ongoing systematic gender discrimination and oppression of women and girls in Afghanistan being carried by the Taliban, expressing deep concern over the recently announced "morality law".
This came in a joint press statement read by Kazuyuki Yamazaki, Japan's Permanent Representative to the UN, on behalf of his country and 11 other council members.
