WHO announces upcoming polio vaccination campaign in Gaza

New York [US], August 30: Rik Peeperkorn, the World Health Organisation (WHO) representative for the occupied Palestinian territories, has announced that a two-phase polio vaccination campaign will commence in Gaza on September 1.
Speaking to reporters in New York today, Peeperkorn detailed that the Palestinian Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the WHO, UNICEF, and the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), will administer two doses of a new oral polio vaccine (type 2) to over 640,000 children under the age of ten during each phase of the campaign.
